1950년 영국 웨일즈 태생.
1968년 싱글 "Those Were The Days"로 데뷔.

비틀즈의 멤버인 폴 매카트니에게 발탁되어 비틀즈의 레코드사였던 apple 에서 음반을 발매하게된 그녀.

처음 발매한  "Those Were The Days"가 영국뿐 아니라 미국에까지 히트하자 비틀즈의 후광이라고 비꼬는 말들도 있었다지만 지금 들어도 참 듣기 좋은 노래들이다.

 그녀를 말할때 팝계의 요정이라고들 표현하는데 들으면 들을수록 그녀의 순수한 외모 만큼이나 때묻지 않은듯한 목소리가 아름답다.
